Our main team games are rugby, hockey, cricket, basketball, tennis, squash and swimming for boys, and hockey, basketball, netball, tennis, squash and swimming for girls. Soccer and volleyball are popular social sports, for both boys and girls. A few external fixtures are arranged for the soccer team, but it is required that the main official games have the priority call on players’ time. The Senior department now also offers rowing as a specialist sport. We also have a strong group of golfers, and we try to encourage individuals in all sports to develop excellence in the areas where they show particular aptitude.
We have had students selected to represent Zimbabwe in tennis, swimming, golf and cricket. We are proud of the drive and energy of our students and encourage them whole-heartedly in their quest for excellence.
We currently have adequate fields for our needs, but are looking to develop more land for sporting activities. We have the best swimming pool in the country, a 8-lane 25 metre anti wave pool, and two basketball courts and one indoor hockey pitch adjacent to the Senior Department and one basketball court adjacent to the Junior Department. We also have four tennis courts with an area earmarked for a further four courts for future development and five all weather cricket nets, an indoor cricket pitch and three indoor nets are currently being installed in the new Phoenix Centre. We introduced Archery last year as a competitive sport and look forward to making our mark in this exciting new discipline.
