Junior Department – Welcome to 2017

Although it may seem like a long time ago now, we hope you had a successful and enjoyable break with your children.  We have enjoyed hearing all about their Christmas holidays in recent days.

Our students have quickly settled down into their new school year groups and classes.  We would like to welcome all our new students who have recently joined us.  We also extend a warm welcome to our year three students who have graduated from the Infants Department.

We wish you all a happy and successful year in THE JUNIOR DEPARTMENT.

Our Student’s have proposed a number of resolution for this year which they hope to accomplish throughout the year, and these are :

  • To study and do their homework.
  • To show resilience when the inevitable set-backs occur
  • To do well in class and sporting activities
  • To be kind and helpful to others
  • To eat, sleep and exercise
  • To limit time spent in front of the television
  • To be helpful at home
  • To be happy in all that they do

Let us all try to help them achieve their goals.

We look forward to a variety of sporting activities during this term.  Our main sports this term are :

  • Cross Country      –          up to half term
  • Athletics               –           after half-term
  • Cricket
  • Tennis
  • Golf

We urge our parents to PLEASE find time to come and support us as we participate in these activities.

The National Institute of Allied Arts holds four Festivals each year in which our students participate.

These are:  The Vocal and Instrumental Festival, The Speech and Drama Festival, The Visual Arts Festival and The Literary Festival.

This term we have the Vocal and Instrumental Festival from 27th February through to 24th March with the Honours Concerts on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March.

You will be kept up-to-date regarding the other Festivals from next term as soon as we receive the Syllabus and dates.

We would like to highlight the importance of HEALTHY lunch boxes.  Please involve the children as you plan and prepare their snacks for break and lunch times.  Also take note that the school does provide hot lunches for our students and you can get the details of menus, how to order and cost from the School Bursar.

A gentle reminder that we do not allow fizzy drinks.

If you have recently changed your contact details, please kindly inform the Department Secretary in order that we can update our records and files.  It is very important that we have contactable telephone numbers for more than one member of the family, and reliable e-mail addresses in the event of emergencies.

We remain committed to providing quality education for your children this year.  We value your continued support and hope to see more parents during our sporting, cultural and educational activities.

We wish you and your family a very happy and prosperous 2017.

Mr. B. Mate
